Anakin Skywalker - A young slave who is found to be strong in the Force and
                              taken away to become a Jedi.

Aunt Beru - Luke's adoptive mother. She is killed when Stormtroopers come to
                    Tatooine looking for the the droids.

Bail Organa - The leader of the planet Alderaan, also Leia's adoptive father.
                    He dies when the Empire blows up Alderaan with the Death
                    Star.

Biggs Darklighter - One of Luke's friends from Tatooine. He becomes a fighter
                            pilot but is killed in the battle against the first Death
                            Star.

Boba Fett - A bounty hunter employed by Darth Vader to capture Luke
                   Skywalker during The Empire Strikes Back.

Boss Nass - The leader of the Gungan people of Naboo.

C-3PO - A droid that Anakin built during his time on Tatooine. He
              eventually ends up with the Rebellion, serving under Luke Skywalker
              and Princess Leia.

Captain Panaka - Amidala's bodyguard, the head of Naboo's Royal Guard.

Chancellor Valorum - Head of the Galactic Republic Senate. He is voted out of
                               office during Episode I and succeeded by Palpatine.

Chewbacca - Han's friend and co-pilot. Belongs to the Wookie species.

Darth Maul - The apprentice of the Sith in Episode I. He kills Qui-Gon and is
                      in turn killed by Obi-Wan.

Darth Sidious - The one Sith Lord at the time of Episode I. He is Darth
                       Maul's Master before Maul is killed.

Darth Vader - The Sith Lord that Anakin becomes when he turns to the Dark
                       Side.

Daulty Dofine - One of the leaders of the Trade Federation. He is part of the
                         particularly nervous species called Neimoidians.

General Jan Dodonna - An important Rebellion leader, one of the founders of
                                 the movenment.

Han Solo - A Corellian smuggler who winds up with Rebellion after
                transporting Ben and Luke to the Death Star.

Jabba the Hutt - A disgusting crime lord living on the planet Tatooine. He is
                         killed after capturing Han Solo.

Jar Jar Binks - A Gungan who gets tangled up with the Jedi and Queen of
                      Naboo, and goes on to help bring peace between the Naboo and
                       the Gungans.

Jek Prokins - A Rebellion fighter pilot who dies during the Battle of Yavin.

Ki Adi Mundi - A Jedi Master who is on the Jedi Council.

Lando Calrissian - One of Han's smuggler friends. He betrays Hand and Leia to
                         the Empire but redeems himself and joins the Rebellion.

Luke Skywalker - Anakin and Amidala's son, he is sent Tatooine by Obi-Wan
                        be kept safe from Vader. He joins the Rebellion and becomes a
                        Jedi.

Mace Windu - A Jedi Knight. He is head of the Jedi council.

Mon Mothma - One of the founding members of the Rebellion. She is an
                       important rebel alliance figurehead.

Nute Gunray - The Viceroy of the trade federation. He is captured by Queen
                       Amidala and punished for his crimes.

Obi-Wan Kenobi - A powerful Jedi Knight. He takes Anakin as his padawan
                            and later helps Luke and Leia.

Palpatine - A senator from Naboo who becomes the chancelor of the senate.
                Eventually he declares himself emperor and starts ruling the galaxy
                with his evil ways. He is killed along with the second death star.

Princess Leia - Anakin and Amidala's daughter, she is adopted by the ruler of
                     Alderan at a very young age to be protected from her father and
                     becomes a princess. She joins the Rebellion at age 18 and becomes
                    an important member. Luke Skywalker is her brother.

Queen Amidala - The ruler of Naboo, she makes a bold move to take back her
                        planet when the trade federation invade.

Qui-Gon Jinn - A famous Jedi Master, he is killed by Darth Maul while
                      protecting Queen Amidala.

R2-D2 - A brave Astromech droid who works for the Naboo fixing
                spaceships. He later becomes involved with the Rebellion and is Luke
                Skywalker's personal droid.

Sebulba - An extremely dangerous Dug. He is Anakin's arch-rival in podracing.

Sio Bibble - The governor of the city of Theed. He is one of Amidala's most
                  trusted advisors.

Shmi Skywalker - Anakin's mother. She is a slave on the planet Tatooine.

Uncle Owen - One of Luke's adopted parents. He is killed at the same time as
                    his wife.

Watto - The gambling toydarian who owns Anakin and treats him badly until
             he is freed.

Wedge Antilles - A well-known fighter pilot for the Rebel Alliance. A
                         friend of Luke's.

Yoda - An extremely old and powerful Jedi Master. He taught many Jedi at
          the Temple and was on the council. He later taught Luke the Jedi ways.
